The Vickers Fine Art Award 2007-2008 Residency and teaching fellowship hosted by Derbyshire Community Foundation and the University of Derby The award celebrates the late Jonathan Vickers’ lifetime devotion to fine and decorative art. Following his death in 1997 a charitable trust was set up within Derbyshire Community Foundation. This biennial award supports an artist to produce new work in response to the landscape, heritage and people of Derbyshire. The aim is to enrich the cultural life of the county of Derbyshire with new art of national importance, accessible to and informed by local people, and forming the basis of a permanent collection. www.vickersartaward.co.uk
